Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar has been one of the Premium clubs in R.I.Dist 3230, forming Chennai & parts of its suburbs. The Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar was inaugurated in the lawns of Hotel Savera on the 15th of March, 1986 in the presence of thef then Governor Dr.S.Sundar Raman. Our Club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Madras South West. There were 25 signatories to the Charter application.      Our club received its Charter on the 16th of May,1986, and the Chief Guest was the then  Chief Justice of Madras High Court Justice Chandrudu. Our Charter President R.Krishnamoorthy is a leading advocate and was then the Advocate General of Tamil Nadu. Our club has never been lacking on fellowship and service.  Our club has been providing a yeoman service to the community in the past years and will continue to do so in future.

                  In conformance with the scope of Rotary International, our club has been associated with various projects benefiting the Community at large. 
  
                  Rotary Club of T.Nagar for the past 24 years has been a forerunner in providing service  in the various facets of Health Care, Hygiene, Education, Employment, International understanding, etc.,
 
                  Rotary Rajan Eye Bank, a joint project of our Club and  Rajan Eye Care Hospital, Chennai, focuses on Blind Free India, Eye donation propaganda, eye harvesting and is one of the pioneers in Corneal Transplants, bringing vision to hundreds of blind citizens attempting to bridge the enormous gap between requirements of corneas for the blind people and receipt of donor eyes from the deceased.Our Club is also actively associated with elderly citizens in rural areas for cataracts and provide for the cataract operation.
 
                  Another unique project of our club is the conducting of the Inter orphanage talent contest being conducted for the last two decades for special children where over 1500 children participate and the club takes care of the entire show, awards, food and amenities for them for the entire day.
 
                  Our club identifies the basic hygiene requirements of corporation schools and provides with class rooms, toilet blocks, tables, chairs and drinking water Our club continuously provides educational needs like school bags, tiffin boxes, sandals, uniforms to underprivileged school children. 
  
                  Our club sponsors “ANNADHANAM” to various Old Age Homes and institutions which house destitute children. Our club also sponsors education for many children who otherwise cannot afford to attend school. 
  Our club’s strength has been fellowship and projects. We have had several theme-based fellowships and most of them are well received by our members and their families. The members’ families have been playing a very important role in the cohesiveness of our club’s functioning.      

                  Rotary T.Nagar is blessed with over 40 distinguished and philanthropic members who have never hesitated to contribute to these  causes. In addition we appeal to you to be part of this great movement and also join us in contributing to this noble cause of health, education and welfare of the society around us.
